Beraber-ΜAZI aims at contributing to the peace and confidence building process in Cyprus through different levels of interventions focusing on the bi-communal cooperation of the Greek-Cypriot and Turkish-Cypriot people, focusing on youths and children, and communities through the development of projects and initiatives related to sports and outdoor activities. The initiatives seek to strengthen inter-communal relations and trust by creating opportunities through sports and activities in outdoor settings in both communities, to give people opportunities to participate in the reconciliation process and fostering an environment conducive to inter-communal cooperation.

Up until now, Greek-Cypriots and Turkish-Cypriots were involved in several bi-communal fitness activities for children, youth and adults. They have been involved in Fight/Boxing activities, as well as athletic drills at the Akropolis Park (Nicosia) and Alagadi Beach (Kerynia). They have been doing yoga by the beach and children and danced in the rhythms of Latin Music. Children, also, had the opportunity to play with nature, through activities in outdoor settings.

We strongly believe that we have a strong responsibility in developing powerful relationships between people coming from the two communities, and fitness and sports is an effective way to achieve that. Fitness and sports contribute to the establishment of the core principles such as tolerance, co-operation and respect. Of self and respect of others. Beraber-ΜAZI… we can work together, united, through fitness and sports for a common aim! Peace, respect and unification of our island!
